We're in Good Company : Canadian Matcha Brands Worth Knowing in 2025

Discover the top Matcha brands in Canada, in quality and taste.

When Daniel and Madison first arrived in Canada, they were struck by how difficult it was to find high quality Matcha, the kind that balances umami depth with creamy sweetness, without bitterness or grittiness. That search led them to create Matcha Dive, but it also gave them a deep appreciation for the few Canadian brands that share their standards.

So, what even is good Matcha?

For us, authentic Matcha will always be Japanese. Though its origins trace back to China, it was in Japan that Matcha evolved into the revered, artisanal product we know today, and where our own farm in Shizuoka continues this centuries old tradition.

You’ll often see the term “Ceremonial Grade”, a label that isn’t exactly regulated. To us, it’s a commitment to intentionality at every stage, from harvest to tin. The Japanese concept of shokunin (the pursuit of mastery) guides our process, and we respect the brands below who share that ethos, whether they use the ceremonial label or not.

Let’s be honest, nothing kills a Matcha high like a surprise customs fee. That’s why every brand here ships from within Canada. No border drama, no hidden charges, just pure, uncomplicated green bliss landing on your doorstep.

Canadian Matcha Brands Heating Up the Scene

Matcha Dive — 📍Toronto, ON

Us, of course!

Creamy. Umami. Balanced. What’s not to love?

When Madison and Daniel set out to bring something better to the Canadian Matcha scene, they wanted to bring something easy, uncomplicated, and, of course, the best of the best.

Try: Our signature tin, perfect for your first sip!

Pairs best with: a Chawan from Goji Studios, a Toronto-based ceramic studio known for soft glazes, clean lines, and the perfect hand feel.

Dew Matcha Bar — 📍Vancouver, BC

“Life’s too short for shitty matcha” , and we couldn’t agree more.

Born out of the beloved Cowdog Coffee, Dew brings rich umami vibes and bold flavour to the West Coast.

Try: Their Rich Dew Matcha — signature for a reason.

Pairs best with: Wine cup from Danny’s Mud Shop.
Okay yes, maybe it’s not technically a matcha cup, but there’s something delightfully cowboy about sipping from it. What better way to enjoy a Cowdog staple than in a cowboy cup?

 O5 Rare Tea Bar — 📍Vancouver, BC

One of the most respected voices in the Canadian tea world, O5 knows tea, full stop.
They source traditionally, honour legacy, and explore flavour like few others do. It's easy to see why they command presence on the West Coast.

Try: Their Ceremonial + Heritage Matcha Subscription — a rotating curation of premium Japanese matcha delivered monthly.

Pairs best with: one of their handmade chawans, especially the black and gold one, which totally captures their legacy/luxury tone.

Whether you're new to Matcha or have already tried some of these names, we’re lucky to have so many Canadian options doing it right.
